Kou-tachi: Ready to go? [Oct. 7th, 2004|11:07 pm]
Omnipotent: A Saiyuki Role Playing Community

Dokugakuji listened to the others and shook his head. The same thing happened every time their quest got dangerous, and it was up to him to draw the right conclusion to this debate. No time like the present.... The big youkai got back into the flying dragon's saddle and beckoned Yaone to follow him. Then he pasted a grin on his face and waved at the leader of the group.

"Looks like nothing's going to be able to tear them away, Kou. And, since I'll be damned if I let you go in there without me to watch your back, I guess you'll have to put up with all of us."

Her brother's brief hug had been a comfort, and it was all Lirin could do to resist clinging to his waist. She could almost feel ominous waves palpitating off him-- and that, more than anything, unnerved her. Even in the worst situations, Lirin was used to Kougaiji being the strong one.

Then again, they had never gone up against gods before.

She scrambled onto the dragon again, wrapping her arms around her brother's midsection.

Though the chances of them coming out of this unharmed -- even alive -- were slim, Lirin could feel the excitement rising in her again. She actually hoped that the Sanzo party would get in "over their heads," as Doku had put it. She could remember her previous fight with one of the gods, and she wanted to kick him for cheating. (At least, she thought he'd cheated; how else had she woken up outside of the forest with the baldy-priest Sanzo?)

More than anything, though, she wanted to see her brother beat up their leader, the one who had hurt his body and pride back at Houtou castle. Maybe this time Kougaiji would need luck.

With a grin, she said, "Let's make sure we kick their butts, Niichan!" Even as she spoke, it was Yaone she looked to for reassurance, because it was Yaone who usually looked out for her when Kougaiji had important things to attend to. Trying not to betray as much anxiety as she felt, she hoped the woman could give her the reassurance she wanted.
